We’re thrilled to have Dr. Gadalla as part of the Healthy Smiles team, as her periodontal expertise enables us to provide an even broader range of care for our patients. She is a specialist when it comes to diagnosing and treating gum disease, and she’s also able to perform various dental implant-related procedures, including placement and bone grafts. She looks forward to serving the Lansing community, and you can learn more about her by reading on below.
Dr. Gadalla’s mother was actually the first person in her family that wanted to become a dentist. But, after her grandmother passed during her mother’s senior year of high school, her mother decided to attend economics school instead so she could be closer to home and support her family. Years later, this story inspired Dr. Gadalla to pursue dentistry herself, and she’s thrilled that she got to finally fulfill her mother’s dream.
Dr. Gadalla received her initial dental training in her native Libya at Garyounis University. After practicing for three years, she made her way to the United States. She ended up completing a fellowship at the University of Florida and a residency at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and St. John Hospital. This resulted in her becoming a certified periodontist, and today, she stays on the leading edge of her field thanks to her membership in the American Academy of Periodontology.
Away from the dental office, most of Dr. Gadalla’s free time is dedicated to taking care of her four children. Lucky for them, she likes to cook and do home décor! Most of her weekends involve attending her kids’ various activities, but when she can, she also loves to play volleyball.
